Dolly Parton Music Book
This art nouveau-inspired music book features Dolly Parton, the queen of big hair and being unproblematic. The contents celebrate Parton’s music and philanthropy that continue to enrich millions of lives. The deliverables include a cover, endpapers, title page, seven spreads, and a satin slipcase.
Process
The prompt for the book was to connect a music artist to an art movement in an unexpected way. I chose art nouveau because of its beautiful floral patterns and whimsical jewelry that fit in nicely with Parton, who’s known for her camp outfits and sweet take-no-shit attitude. I used a bright color palette for the florals and jewelry to connect the art period to Parton.
